PRESENCE OF PEACE

Scripture Reading - John 14:25-27

25 These things have I (Jesus) spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. KJV

First notice who was speaking to the disciples, it was Jesus our beloved Savoir and Master. At that time Jesus was speaking to them in person but the truths of God are always spiritual. It is still Jesus speaking to us today physically through the written Word of God and spiritually through His Presence with us. The Presence of God that teaches us the wisdom of the scriptures is often referred to as the Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit to teach them and bring all things, specifically His Words, sayings, doctrine, principles, precepts to their remembrance. Specifically for us this means that the Holy Spirit reminds us of the promises of God that are applicable to our current situation. He speaks to your heart to illuminate your mind to fully understand God’s guidance in your life. After that process is fulfilled we should experience verse 27 which is God’s Peace. Jesus cleverly summed up this whole process as the Person of the Holy Ghost, which the Lord refers to as Peace. Jesus said Peace I leave with you, since the Lord is the Prince of Peace, and our God is the only God of all Peace, it is crucial for us to recognize that the Person of Peace generally enhances the process. The process is first - study, read, ponder the Word of God, then - expect the Holy Spirit to bring to your attention God’s Word when you need it, after that - expect God’s Peace. Fellow believer keep God’s Peace in your heart and don’t tolerate carefulness or confusion of mind. If you are faithful to do the process you will surely experience the Person of Peace in the Presence of God’s Holy Spirit because the two work together as one. Jesus’ words calm the mind while at the same time the Holy Spirit strengthens the heart to deliver (or heal) the body. Receive your full measure of God’s Peace which is your spiritual protection because He is the strong guard of your spirit, soul and body. Amen!
